COOK + PHILLIP PARK REFURBISHMENT

Cook + Phillip Park centre is a strong example of early 2000’s modernism. The latest refurbishment needs called for a sympathetic look at the existing building, a modern yet timeless touch, to ensure that the facilities remain a popular and well used community space for many years to come.

Our approach to this project began by investigating the possibilities of retaining and refurbishing existing materials where possible, to reduce wastage and excess materials. Where new materials were required, they were selected to be durable and long lasting. New materials were sourced from companies that embody environmentally friendly practices, have a sustainable ethic and are low VOC for a healthier built environment.

A key goal of the upgrades was to improve the accessible facilities of the centre and provide a more appealing and comfortable experience to all who visit. The upgrades provide better access and newer facilities for all patrons.

These works are contained wholly within the constraints of the existing building envelope, requiring that some of the spaces, such as the reception, are rearranged for greater efficiency to both staff and patrons.

The project has so far resulted in attractive and inviting improvement to the existing facilities, which have both improved the overall user experience and value of the centre to both patrons and guests.
